Estranged couple disagree on pictures, alimony

When a couple in Illinois decides to divorce, there are multiple decisions that must be made. While some people may be able to make these decisions amicably, there are many others who will ultimately ask the court to intercede and issue a ruling regarding child support and custody, asset division, and alimony. Unfortunately, a couple in another state reportedly are undergoing a contentious divorce, struggling to agree on a number of issues.

The couple reportedly married in 2009 and shared their struggles to conceive, which included a miscarriage. Fortunately, triplets were ultimately born. Six years later, the couple claimed that their marriage was broken beyond repair.

The husband claims that his wife makes about five times more than him and is asking for temporary spousal support. He claims that she has refused to contribute to household expenses -- estimated at approximately $7,000 each month -- though they continue to live together. He further states that she removed the pictures of him in the home and is asking that they be returned.

The woman is also asking for alimony. She also accuses him of forging her signature so that he could access and transfer her retirement assets. She believes that he failed in an attempt to secure a loan in her name, and she is asking the court to determine that he is solely responsible for certain debts, including debts to the IRS.

When couples decide to marry, they do so with the intention that they will spend the rest of their lives together. However, the stresses of life can create rifts in a marriage, often causing couples to choose to divorce. Those going through a divorce in Illinois often want an experienced attorney fighting on their behalf to help ensure that their interests are fully represented in all issues, including alimony.
