Rapper Ludacris wants full custody of newborn

On Behalf of | Mar 15, 2014 | Child Custody |

Some people in Lake County, Illinois will go to great lengths to avoid paying their court ordered child or spousal support payments. Some may even file for child custody in order to get out of paying. In situations like these, it is important to have proper legal representation in order to ensure that the best interests of your child or children are taken into consideration when determining child custody.

There are those who believe that rapper and actor Ludacris may be trying to avoid paying child support by filing for full custody of his 2-month-old daughter. Ludacris has been ordered to pay $15,000 a month in child support to the baby’s mother, Tamika Fuller. Even though Forbes estimates the 36-year-old rapper’s net worth to be at least $12 million, Ludacris says he only made $55,000 last year and cannot afford that high of a child support payment. He said he is only able to pay $1,800 a month because his latest movie, “Fast and Furious 7,” has been delayed due to the death of star Paul Walker.

Although the judge adjusted the required child support down to $7,000 a month, Ludacris filed for full custody of the child and wants Fuller to pay him child support.

If you are facing divorce or separation, you may wish to speak with an attorney experienced in family law who can help you with your custody case. Because your child’s future is on the line, this is no time to try to do it alone.
