Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and his wife, Silda, have announced their split in what can be considered a high-end divorce. Spitzer’s family’s real estate is estimated to be worth $1 billion; his own personal net worth is thought to be $50 million. Silda works as the head of an equity firm and shared an apartment with Spitzer in a building that is owned by her father. The couple have assets that are worth millions including a $4 million estate, $5 million in real estate rents and other trusts.

The couple had been married for 26 years and have three adult children together. They announced on Christmas Eve that their marriage was over and recently released a statement saying that all the issues of the divorce had been resolved and agreed upon.
